The film centers on two characters who share the same restaurant but come from different cultural backgrounds: an elderly Chinese restaurant owner and a young Indian employee. The space was therefore designed as a meeting point between their two identities. Red grows naturally from the restaurant’s Chinese setting and later becomes more prominent through Lunar New Year decorations, while deep blue and ornamental patterns subtly introduce visual associations with South Asian culture. Rather than using explicit cultural symbols, we wanted the two identities to coexist through color, pattern, and texture within the same space.
